With a young growing family, my clients Alistair and Tara needed to create more space and form a family / kitchen / dining area with easy access to the garden.  The house had a small courtyard which was extended into allowing the existing dining room and kitchen to be linked and created a top lit family room.  Sitting alongside a public path the elevation to the path reused the brick from the old courtyard wall with timber cladding above and around it defining the extension.
